Student Engagement and Support Coordinator

We are a not-for-profit organisation, with dedicated staff that makes learning come to life through hands-on, practical education tailored to each student’s unique needs. We’re looking for a Student Engagement and Support Coordinator to help support our students.

The role

The role requires a high level of organisation and emotional intelligence and will support all staff and students, in the development of community across all campuses, promoting a sense of belonging. Working closely with the Lead Teacher – Innovation and Excellence, the Projects Administrator, and the Wellbeing Team, the role will focus on student transitions, wellbeing and engagement throughout our student’s journey at ECG.

Engagement portfolio

  • Identify barriers to engagement and develop strategies to support students and families to navigate them.
  • Further develop and ensure engagement processes and procedures are in place and are followed.
  • Support staff, students and families/carers in the development of quality Engagement Improvement Agreements (EIA’s)
  • Demonstrate best engagement practices with a focus on providing individualised, quality pathways.
  • Track and manage student absence data and proactively encourage strong attendance.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and community services/agencies to develop and extend pathways for support.
  • Identify students (families) requiring additional support or at risk and refer them to appropriate services/agencies.
  • Facilitate and promote community building and well-being education programs both internally, and externally.

Student voice and agency

  • Develop, deliver and interpret student (and learning community) surveys and forums for input and empowerment.
  • Create opportunities for students to have input into the development of school processes and procedures.
  • In collaboration with the curriculum lead and education staff, enhance opportunities for students to have input into their learning pathways including the development of goals and the celebration of successes.


  • Clear Police check
  • Clear Working with Children check
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health, a Certificate IV in Youth Work, or a Diploma in Community Services or other related qualification
